This is an experimental in situ sculpture project, made for the group exhibition “Avant la Fame” and the spatial structure. With the support and permission of Lieu Commun, I brought some of the materials I had, such as plaster powder, neon lights, and plastic mesh, to the exhibition site to begin the whole production work. The entire process lasted 5 days. The overall sculptural form and additional material choices were adjusted based on the actual circumstances during the production process.
“– – – -. – – – -. “, which is Morse code for 99, stands for “GO AWAY” according to the Morse code universal abbreviation table. Interestingly, in France, I discovered that 99 is also the designated area code for individuals born abroad.
This piece is an inorganic-bionic hybrid light sculpture constructed from industrial materials. I aimed to create a nest or cave-like structure using plastic mesh and plaster, reminiscent of a parasitic invasive species hanging or installed in the corners of a building. Depending on the exhibition space and venue, it undergoes all types of suspension tests and fabrications, resembling an industrial toxic parasite’s nest that captures the viewer’s attention.
Dimensions: Approximately 4.5m x 3m x 2m
Materials: Plastic mesh, transparent garbage bags, organza fabric, mosquito netting, plastic beads, nylon thread, metal wire, metal hooks, plaster, duck feathers, LED neon flex lights, silicone industrial tubing.
